SCOPE
of Micro-Fluidization

Welcome to our new subscribers! Micro-Mail SCOPE
is our application focused newsletter which reports
the broad "Scope" of possibilities for Micro-
Fluidization. Each month we send you successful
scenarios showing methods of applying fluids
and lubricants which result in less consumption and
better overall manufacturing performance. We also
send you industry news and the latest updates on our
products.
This year we have released several new products and
have added new features to existing systems. This
issue highlights three of our newest products which
may be helpful to you as you target opportunities to
improve lubrication during the remainder of the year.

CSM-S and MMS-S Automated Mixing Stations
Coolant / Lubricant Mixing for Metal Cutting and Forming
In addition to our Micro-Fluidization Systems for
applying fluids and lubricants, UNIST, Inc. designs
and manufactures customized fluid mixing and supply
stations for machining and stamping applications.
Now UNIST is using their knowledge and experience
to make this technology available "off the shelf."
Companies interested in lean operations,
consolidation of work cells or other shop floor
processes which benefit from a centralized fluid
mixing and supply source, will experience less fluid
handling and transportation throughout the plant,
improved quality monitoring of fluid components and
water, cost reduction and less waste. Elimination of
manual mixing delivers a consistent concentration
ratio day to day and shift to shift.

UNIST LVSS
Low Volume Spray System for Metalforming
The LVSS (Low Volume Spray System) is designed
specifically for metalforming die lubrication. It allows
integration of precision spray to lubricate parts and
tooling with unique requirements or those needing
more lube than the coil stock lubrication process
provides. The scalable, programmable system
provides complete control of air and fluid applied to
metalforming dies. It is also effective in progressive,
transfer, and secondary operations.
The UNIST SPR 2000 Programmable Lubrication
Station is used to control the sequencing, duration
and frequency of nozzle actuation for the LVSS. The
system can be programmed with up to 250 job
setups. Fluid and air volumes are managed using
separate needle valves located on the nozzle,
providing control to direct the right amount of fluid to
the desired surface. When using the LVSS,
pressurized fluid is always available at the nozzle
assembly, delivering the capability to apply fluids and
lubricants in minute quantities at the exact rate and
volume required by each job.

Dual Check Valve Pumps
Injector Pump Technology for Water Based Fluids
Dual Check Valve Uni-Max Pumps were developed to
improve Uni-Max system performance with water-
based, alcohol, vanishing and other low lubricity
fluids. Dual check valve design prolongs life of
injector pumps by allowing more consistent control
of fluid displacement, so wear is reduced resulting in
less maintenance. The positive displacement dual
check valve injector pumps are available on
Coolubricator, Serv-O-Spray, and Single Line
systems. The pumps can be ordered in one drop or
three drop output volumes as a specification for a new
system, or to replace in-service systems when the
appropriate fluid types are being used.
UNIST, Inc. usually recommends a high efficiency fluid
with good lubricity, such as Coolube¨ vegetable
based lubricant. We recognize, however, that users
sometimes have requirements which make it is
necessary to apply other types of materials. While
UNIST systems have always been able to apply nearly
any type of lubricant in small quantities, the new Dual
Check Valve Uni-Max pumps now make it possible to
achieve even better system performance and reduce
maintenance when low lubricity lubricants must be
used.
