    SCOPE
    of Micro-Fluidization
    January 2008

    UNIST HQ Dear Steve,

Welcome to our new subscribers! Micro-Mail SCOPE is our news and application e-mail which reports the broad "Scope" of possibilities for Micro- Fluidization. Each month we send you successful scenarios showing methods of applying fluids and lubricants which result in less consumption and better overall manufacturing performance. Micro-Mail also includes industry news and the latest updates on our products.

January has been a dynamic month in the life of our company. As it opened, we begun the transition to a new owner. Near its close we lost a family member and dear friend. This month and next we will update you on these stories.

We enter 2008 with great anticipation. Our customers and industry partners will continue counting on us to deliver exceptional products and service, so their lubrication processes will be efficient, clean, and economical. We proudly accept this responsibility.

Chuck Boelkins Prepares to Lead UNIST into the Future

Wally Boelkins has been the sole owner of UNIST since 1968. From the humble confines of his small shop containing a desk and a workbench, Wally began with a single product, and a concept he believed could strongly impact industrial lubrication. Today, with over 6000 customers on 6 continents, the company is only beginning to realize its potential.

Chuck Boelkins joins UNIST for the first time as its new President. He looks forward to advancing the company's influence regarding the proper application of fluids and lubricants for industry. Chuck sees the opportunity, and the need for industrial companies to improve their bottom line "by reducing the amount of fluids consumed through repeatable, reliable application."

    Paint Roller Technology Improved Upon

Paint rollers are frequently used to spread around lubricant onto parts and stock. We replace them often. The truth is, an apparently inexpensive paint roller solution can actually be very costly to a manufacturing operation because there is often no control over the amount or consistency of fluid applied. The result is more costly fluid usage, handling, storage clean-up and disposal.

When an internal suspended ceiling manufacturer was applying so much lubricant, their parts had to take two turns through the wash process, it was time to look for a change.

Fluid Application Automated and Applied to Both Sides of the Stock

In this application paint roller technology was also being used, but could not even apply fluid to the material underside where the draw was taking place. UNIST replaced the hand process with a cam driven pump and roller system to get fluid to the right surfaces.
