How to Eliminate Air Pockets in Uni-Max HV System Reservoirs
To completely remove air pockets from a Uni-Max HV system reservoir, the reservoir must be emptied and refilled from scratch. Follow these steps:
- Lower the reservoir air pressure to 0 psi using the air regulator adjustment.
- Depressurize the reservoir by manually sliding the valve to the OFF position.
- Remove the pressure relief valve using a 7/16" socket or wrench.
- Install a 1/8" NPT nipple into the pressure relief valve port.
- Place a suitable container beneath the nipple to collect the grease.
- Pressurize the reservoir by manually sliding the valve to the ON position.
- Slowly increase the air pressure using the air regulator adjustment until the grease begins to flow.
- Once the reservoir is empty, reinstall the pressure relief valve.
- Refill the reservoir with the appropriate grease.

Safety Considerations
- Always follow standard safety procedures when working with pressurized systems.
- Ensure the system is fully depressurized before removing any components.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and eye protection.
- Dispose of collected grease according to local environmental regulations.
- Refer to the Uni-Max HV product manual.
