How much air does my system use?

The majority of air in a Coolubricator, Serv-O-Spray, CoolubricatorJR, or Mini-Piggy is used to atomize the fluid at the nozzle tip. Typically the atomizing air on these systems is controlled by an air metering screw which is adjustable for different system needs and requirements. Normally, a metering screw setting of ½ to ¾ of a turn open from fully closed is a good starting point. At this setting the air consumption is approximately 0.5-1.5 CFM depending on the nozzle and output hose configuration.

The maximum air flow for a typical coax hose and copper nozzle setup is 6-7 CFM whereas a single line system will max out at about 2-2.5 CFM.
