Smoke is coming off my tool.

Some smoke coming off of the tool while using Coolube™ can be normal as most of the fluid is consumed during the machining operation. However, excessive smoke is not normal and can be caused by a lack of lubricant on the cutting tool. Smoking can also be caused by excessive lubricant which pools and traps heat, eventually burning off. More fluid is not always better, a little bit can go long way. The following are some checks you can perform on your Unist system to reduce the amount of smoke:
- Make sure reservoir has adequate fluid level.
- Ensure pump is stroking.
- Ensure oil output from nozzle.
- Ensure nozzle is aimed correctly and oil is being applied to cutting tool.
- Ensure oil is not being excessively applied.
- Adjust air and oil output as necessary.
