Fluid leaking from solenoid valve.

2021-02-16

Fluid leaking out of the back of a solenoid valve that controls an LV nozzle is actually and issue with the LV nozzle, not the solenoid valve. There is an o-ring that separates the fluid chamber and air chamber on the LV nozzle. If this o-ring is damaged, worn or swollen it can allow fluid to enter the air chamber. When this happens fluid will work its way back into the on/off air line and all the way back to the solenoid valve. The fluid will then mist out of the back of the solenoid valve every time the valve turns on and off. The LV nozzle needs to be rebuilt in order to resolve this issue. Rebuild kit part numbers are:

  • 4210 Series: 302106
  • 4230 Series: 303823

After rebuilding the nozzle, it is recommended that you replace or clean out the on/off tube to remove any fluid that may still be in the tube. The valve may still mist for a few cycles while excess fluid within the air chamber of the valve works its way out.
